Britany Rodarte, MPH, RD, CLEC
Hello and welcome! I’m Britany, and I’m so glad you’re here.
I’ve been making a mess in the kitchen since I was three years old and never cared to break the habit. The kitchen is my art studio, where creativity runs amok to produce delicious, nutritious food.
Creating delicious food and helping others are my greatest callings. They make my time here on this planet worthwhile. So when I enrolled years ago at Cal State and discovered nutrition it was a natural choice. There my passions intertwined. I dedicated myself to learning about food and how it affects our health to help others lead fuller lives.
After I became a dietitian, however, I was surprised to discover that many thought of me as the food police! Friends and co-workers even felt embarrassed to eat in front of me.
Dear reader, let me assure you this is NOT who I am or what this blog is about! This blog is about a love of delicious food, that happens to be nutritious. Eating well doesn’t have to mean overcooked vegetables and stringy chicken breast. Because if food isn’t delicious, who cares if it’s nutritious?
I have a bachelor’s degree in food science & nutrition and a master’s in public health from UCLA. (Go Bruins!!) For the past several years, I’ve put my education to good use helping underserved families throughout San Diego County enrich their lives through healthier eating.
I live with the two loves of my life in beautiful Ocean Beach, San Diego. Lorenzo is a landscape architect working in downtown and Oziah is our boy. Born in May 2015, he’s the cutest 5am wake-up call I’ve ever set eyes on.
My favorite things include steamy french press coffee, crunchy dark chocolate straight from the freezer, and the feeling of warm sand between my toes. In everything I do, my goal is to spread positivity and be uplifting to others.
I love to know what you think- please leave comments! I also love nutrition questions, so comment or email me if I can help you with nutrition in any way!
Thank you for stopping by! Please read through the recipes, browse the information, head to the kitchen- and let’s make a mess!
